“Stunning gardens, relaxed atmosphere and friendly hosts”
“Beautiful place!!!!!! Wonderful host! We stayed two nights. On our first night we arrived too late to go out to dinner so we decided to just open a bottle of wine and enjoy the lovely drawing rooms (very beautifully furnished). Marie our host brought us out plates of cheese for us to enjoy with our wine. She was a gracious and warm host. The gardens are amazing. Our room overlooked the front courtyard - everything about the room was perfect - was exciting to have stayed in a place that enabled us experience history. We felt privileged to have had the opportunity to have experienced a stay at Chateau de La ballue.”

“This old chateau is located about 30 minutes from Mt St Michel and is a lovely property, well maintained and managed by the family who bought it 11 years ago. They have done a beautiful job of making it a hotel, but with a feeling of being "at home". The rooms are well-appointed and there is an open bar. The breakfasts are ample and one can have dinner on request. (We ate at an excellent restaurant in St Bric, about 15 minutes away.) The outdoor pool is heated and modern. BUT, the most impressive aspect of this place is the gardens. They maintain up to 5 gardeners to keep the bushes and shrubs beautifully manicured, and it's a delight to meander among the shrubs and trees. There's even a small labyrinth. We would definitely return.”

“Beautiful chateau with exquisite manicured gardens in classical French style. Furnishings to match the period and luxurious living areas with remarkable antiques. Breakfast was delicious using fresh organic ingredients served by a delightful lady. Good English spoken. Lovely countryside and easy access to St Malo and Mt Michel.”
