“Staff very friendly and helpful. We were lucky to get a room upgrade, which was clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast filled us for the day ahead. Lovely remote area, however not to far from Stranraer. Already planning our next stay, would definitely recommend.”
“Amazing location, friendly helpful staff, beautiful food.”
“The location is spectacular with views across the sea of northern Ireland, the Mull of Kintyre and the islands of Ailsa Craig with Arran behind it. The hotel is quiet and away from it all, which we always like. As vegetarians there was a poor choice of food for breakfast, but what we had for dinner was super tasty.”
“Very attentive staff, very tastefully decorated, fabulous food, awesome setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Corsewall made even more special by the fact that my wife lived there in her early childhood when her father was one of the lighthouse keepers. Hope to visit again!”
“The location was unique and beautiful. The staff were friendly and added to the relaxed atmosphere. The dinner was one of the best we had on our trip (I had the trout and my husband had the venison and quail combo). The hotel is 45 minutes from the Cairnryan ferry, which was convenient as we were sailing the next morning.”
“Great location; and cool to be at the lighthouse at night. Dinner was like the 1970's in a good way.”
“Comfortable beds, Nice breakfast. Great location. Happy to recommend”
“I loved the remoteness and wild, sea views. The hotel is unique with lots of attention to detail.”
“Location fantastic peaceful, beautiful and we were lucky with the weather”
“A singular location - standing on a rocky and isolated headland it has amazing views across to the Irish mainland and the various islands. Built by Robert Stevenson (grandfather to the author Robert Louis Stevenson who penned Tresure Island amongst many notable works) Coursewall Lighthouse is still operational and the Irish ferries sailing by the windows remind you that this is a well travelled yet dangerous part of the coast. The hotel is situated in the adjacent building to the lighthouse proper and access to rooms is by a spiral staircase to the upper floors. The bedrooms are cozy and functional. Tiny bathrooms due to the constraints of the building. Lovely, peaceful location, with only seabirds and waves to be heard. Restaurant very pleasant with delicious meals. Something different to try for a week end away.”
