“Our room was more like a suite. It was huge. The queen bed was very comfy. The view out our window was of the lovely back garden. Our room was in an older part of the castle with funny narrow hallways, and sloping, squeaking floors. It definitely felt old but in a good way. We found it to be charming. The staff were awesome. We arrived at 2:30am and there was a very nice young man to greet us and show us to our room. The hotel manager was also a very interesting guy to talk with. Breakfast was ordered off of a menu. I had scrambled eggs and salmon. They have a coffee machine that makes whatever you like. Cappuchino, latte, Americano, and it is self serve. The village of Dornoch is very quaint and worth exploring. We used the location as home base for touring the north coast.”
