- To eat dinner at the hotel, a reservation must be made in advance.<br><br>To use the hotel's free shuttle, call upon arrival at Miyanoshita Train Station.<br><br>Guests cannot choose which building to stay in. Rooms are assigned by the hotel. Requests for particular buildings are not accepted.<br><br>The outdoor pool is open from late July to late August.<br><br>Extra charges apply to use the private hot-spring bath.<br><br>All rooms are non-smoking as of January 2015.<p>Guests with tattoos may not be permitted to use the property’s public bathing areas or other facilities where the tattoos might be visible to other guests.</p>

“Our room in this venerable historical monument of a hotel was spacious and very comfortable. We loved being able to relax in our room's sitting area, looking out at the beautiful view. We were easily able to use buses and trains to see the local sights. We also enjoyed taking a look at the hotel's museum. When we were shown to our room, I appreciated being informed how to find a rather obscure elevator to the ground floor -- all because I'd made a request to not have many stairs when I made the booking. They paid attention! The hotel is a bit shabby now, but is scheduled to close for a two-year renovation starting in April 2018. So if you want to experience a bit of history, do it soon. I'm glad we stayed at the Fujiya Hotel.”
