“The location is very picturesque---on a hillside above the town; actually in the middle of a ski slope, so in winter, it's ski in-ski out. The property is beautiful and well-kept inside and out. Looks more like Switzerland than Italy. Breakfast had a wide variety of meats, cheese, eggs (hard-boiled), pastries, bread, cereals, juices, torts and preserves, plus any type of coffee desired. The hostess, Judit (spelling?) is Ladin and dresses in a traditional Ladin dress during breakfast. She is very pleasant and speaks Ladin (a language only spoken in this one valley), German, Italian and English fluently. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. It is not a fancy, luxurious property but I wasn't looking for one either. It's basic, no frills, but very comfortable. I stayed 6 nights.”

“This hotel is on the mountainside above the town of Ortisei. The town is in a fairy-tale beautiful valley. There are numerous hotels in the town which are more convenient but Garni August has the superb views. It is simple but impeccable and the staff is as gracious as is possible. We were a three generation family who stayed for three nights and we all loved the location, the activities and the hotel.”
“Garni August is located up the hill so our wonderful balcony view included the whole town and was perfect for sitting on at night. The walking path down to the town was convenient as the roads in the mountain towns are small. Great breakfast! They had a large tray of yogurt toppings to choose from!”
