“We loved Castres and the Grand epitomises all that is good about it. A stunning, imposing building, beautifully converted and with stunning rooms. While there is no regular restaurant at the hotel, Castres town has a good choice of quality bars and restaurants to be enjoyed.”
“The hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and sizeable. However, the hotel did seem deserted which was strange and the front door was wedged shut when I went out late. This seemed all rather curious but the stay was very comfortable, the rooms spotless and the staff very obliging. So yes, recommended.”

“Although we had booked a standard double room, we were given a lovely corner room on the third floor, with a balcony/terrace and excellent view over the river. The room was stylish and comfortable, cleaned swiftly while we were at breakfast, and the proprietor, although low-key, was extremely helpful when I mentioned that the wifi signal was poor in our room, lending me a cable which immediately gave a very fast connection. The location is ideal for exploring the main sights on foot, just across the road from the Goya museum and a few steps from the Jean Jaures square. The breakfast was served by a very pleasant woman, for whom nothing was too much trouble. In short, a sleek modernised hotel with the feel of a comfortable family-run establishment. We were delighted.”
