“The room was very nice, large tatami style. We had plenty of room for our four futon beds, the table and chairs. There was also a lovely seating area at the window with two chairs, a table, a refrigerator, and hot water dispenser. That extra seating area made it a very comfortable space for our family of four. (We always hope for extra futon mattresses in the closet so we can double up for more comfort, but we had one per person at this hotel.) Large windows in the room and in the lobby with a view to the gorgeous fall colors and the Pacific Ocean. The new owner Johnny Lee was very kind and gracious. He is a great host with good recommendations for restaurants nearby. Onsen was nice, indoor only, but a large window with views to the fall colors. Shower/water pressure was great in the onsen too.”
“Lovely position Friendly and accomodating manager/owner. Wonderful room with views. Plenty of room Short walk to the train station. Beautiful train trip there Wonderful Onsen”
“Would be nice to have also option ff a western style bed although the Japan futon style added to the authenticity.”
“The room we got was big and the view was amazing. The staff was friendly and we were lucky that we were the only ones there after a holiday so we got a private Onsen. I think this hotel got really good potential if they get more guest to improve the hotel experience. And it was in a quiet area so there wasn’t much car traffic. I can’t comment on the food, we never ate at the hotel. I liked the hotel, what I liked more was the staff/owners was trying to improve themselves and the hotel experience.”
“The onsen is a great feature. We were lucky enough as a family of 4 to have one onsen all to ourselves. At busier times, there's one onsen for men and another one for women. We stayed in a Japanese quadruple and the room was pretty large.”
“Breakfast dinners were amazing Staff were great and helpful and spoke English”
“View of the room was incredible, the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Hotel was tastefully decorated with lots of wood and light making it very relaxing. Dinner was extremely value for money, and very tasty with lots of food”
“It's near Ohiradai bus station. The ryokan is very spacious, you'll actually feel the Japanese traditional vibe. The view from the window is lovely too. Lots of greens and mountains at sight. The owner is courteous and always greets us whenever we go in/out of the hotel. One night, we were looking for an ATM machine nearby and the owner was kind enough to drive us to Lawsons (est. 5-min drive) with no additional charge. Now that's customer service beyond expectations. We're totally grateful!”
“Good location with a great view of the sunrise. I'm sure the owners try hard and in some areas of the hotel you can see some thought has gone into the furniture and accessories making it quite a contemporary space. ”
“Enjoyed the large clean room and yakatas. Great warm onsen and nice friendly staff.”
