“This family-run hotel is a tiny island of cosiness among the bigger houses. This is something hard to find nowadays. You can learn the history of the hotel from few photos in the lobby. Also the hosts are very welcoming and pleased to talk. The rooms are very clean, equipped good enough. Breakfast does not include thousands of choices, although you feel it's made with love and you don't stay hungry. Also paella for the lunch was the best tasted during a week of stay on Costa Dorada and Valencia. And definitely the best location by the beach - there is no road under your window.”
“Lovely lovely lovely people and place! Not a fancy luxury hotel but very comfortable, clean, friendly, sweet. The staff were very warm and helpful. I would love to go back!”
“The Hotel Bodegón is a little like stepping back in time from the paper ribbon on the toilet seat guaranteeing cleanliness to the wood paneling throughout the hotel. It is a charming, comfortable, very clean property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The best feature of this hotel is the delightful family which owns and manages the property. Both Christian and his sister Jacqueline are friendly, warm and eager to demonstrate their commitment to making their guests feel welcome and comfortable.”
“This family owned and operated three story hotel is the perfect stay for a couple of days at the beach. Great menu selection from restaurant. We had a very nice breakfast on the beach front patio. Appropriate music at the perfect volume added nice ambiance.”
“All the staff were brilliant, the owners Christian and Jacky couldn't have been nicer even bringing their own kettle for use in our room, and arranging for laundry to be done as we didn't feel confident finding our way to the nearest laundromat about 5km away. Food was of a very high standard, and the bar/restaurant such an awesome place to relax in. The location absolutely second to none, right on the beach, we hired bikes next door, 2 hours hire to cycle right to the end of the breakwater then leisurely lunch and return. Forty minute walk up the other end to the castle. We had the Seaview room on the first floor which was fantastic. We were only going to stay two nights then stayed four!”
“It was just lovely place in perfect location staff were friendly and helpful breakfast was very good to”
“This is a small, friendly family run hotel just across a cycle track from a lovely beach that goes on for miles. Rooms are basic but clean. The hotel offers a good restaurant with good food which is popular with non residents. It was our preference to be in a small hotel with individual character rather than a large modern hotel. If we go back to Peniscola, we would choose this hotel again. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Peniscola is a great place for a beach holiday and has the advantage that it is a place where Spanish people go for their holidays. So it was different from those resorts which cater for non nationals! We stayed for 4 nights which was probably enough before moving on, unless of course you wanted to spend more time on the beach.”
“Family run, all very friendly and helpful and very close to a lovely beach. A nice area and this hotel particularly and one that we would like to return to and spend more time in.”
“This is a family operated hotel that faces the beautiful beaches in Peniscula. The hotel is very clean and inviting. The rooms are classic European for size. The family is very friendly and speak very good English (for those who need it). Breakfast is continental. The restaurant/bar extends to the edge of the walk that separates it from the beach. A very nice location. Bicycle rentals are next door. Parking is available right on the property. We had room 110 which is for singles or couples and the balcony fronts the ocean. Wonderful. We left the balcony doors open and listened to the waves crashing as we went to sleep.”
“Staff very friendly and helpfull. Hotel very quaint”
