“This is a family hotel in an a former family house atop of a Brasserie. Do not anticipate a fancy hotel with a reception lobby, a bathroom or even a toilet in the room (they are on the same floor), and the usual "amenities"; But it is clean, reasonably comfortable and a very good Wifi. hus, it is OK if you are on a tight budget and not demanding more tah a good bed and the comfort of a simple room.”
“Good location close to the station and walking distance to the center where the main pubs and restaurants were. Free parking. Coffee maker and 2 free coffee pads included.”
“The owners were lovely and accommodating. It's a useful location for Verviers town centre. Basic but clean and comfortable rooms.”
“Could not fault our stay - lovely double room with en suite and little balcony; friendly and attentive staff; quaint and clean hotel and brasserie. Excellent location for our purpose (Belgian Grand Prix), right near Verviers Central train station. Although we didn't use it there was a really decent parking area for guests with cars too. ”
“Nice friendly staff. Rooms are good, enough space, only missed a small fridge. Breakfast was delicious, and also the free parking next to hotel is perfect.”
“Great simple place to stay. Old world charm- the brasserie on the first floor is fantastic. The old part of the city is a three minute walk, which also has some nice Cafe's and restaurants. Breakfast in the brasserie on the first floor was very good. Self-serve with great coffee, croissants, pastries, meat/cheese selection, hard boiled eggs, etc. The Hotel Des Ardennes is a great value and a great old school European experience with a three floor walk up, bathroom down the hall (for my low cost room at least!) an actual key to your room and family-owned warmth.”
“The location - right next to the station, and close to the town centre of Verviers.”
“When we entered the room we where pleasantly surprised by its size. It was much bigger than expected. The big window would fold open showing a balcony that was also the fire escape. The room was equipped with an espresso machine and two coffee cups. There was also a refrigerator. The shower was large as well with a toilet and a wash basin. Basically the room had everything we needed and had hoped for. Ample parking space next to the hotel. Super markets were at walking distance, fast food restaurants were across the road, as was the railway station with bus stops and taxis.”
“That's an excellent old-school hotel with friendly owners, a pub downstairs, cosy rooms and reasonable pricing. I enjoyed my stay very much (moreover that the hotel virtually sits on the train station which is an advantage not to be underestimated when one has to catch a train at 6:40 :=)”
“Authentic, old hotel, rooms several floors over bar, some rooms with shared bath and some with private bath. On the plaza, adjacent to train station. Inexpensive. Gritty neighborhood with many food options, but fewer on Sunday. Good, routine breakfast in bar on first floor. Adequate English.”
