“The hostess did warm up to us after a little while and helped us find a nearby restaurant within short driving distance where we could have a nice dinner. The hotel was quaint, well kept, and easy to find. The on-site parking was convenient, easy, and free! Our room and bathroom were very clean, and the heater worked well. Since the hotel does not serve breakfast, we were given a coupon for a nearby bakery that serves a full breakfast; even though that bakery turned out to be closed the next morning, there is a large supermarket also within walking distance that had plenty to choose from and a wonderful bakery that also served some of the best coffee we have ever had. We appreciated that this hotel has a later checkout time, which allowed us to enjoy a leisurely morning and a checkout process that was quick and easy when we were ready to depart.”

“We arrived well after check in hours, but I had tried to call the property several times only to find their phones were not working. Although we were late and unexpected, we were welcomed and given a room even though with no phone service or internet, there was no record of our reservation. Luckily, there was a room available, and it was nice and clean. The hotel is convenient to the American military posts in the area, but it's not terribly convenient if you are visiting the city. Parking was great, off the road, and secure which isn't always available, so that was nice.”

“Hospitality! I was a late arrival -- a victim of my own ineptitude navigating the Deutsche Bahn rail timetables-- at a moment when the host was busy in the kitchen. Yet she answered the bell and got me checked in with a very welcoming greeting. And then, even though the kitchen had closed for the evening, she offered to make me "a cheeseburger! The BEST!" And she wasn't wrong. The German beer from the tap certainly made the whole meal even more satisfying after a nerve-wracking journey. We liked the way we could open the windows at night, yet still roll down the sunshades to let us sleep in the next morning. We loved the casual guesthouse feel to the place. And we were impressed by the lengths our host went to make guests comfortable.”
