“The hotel is charming, historic (read up on Elvira Madigan) and right at the ferry landing for Aeroe Island. It's a short walk from the train station and near the historic square. I actually made a mistake: I booked this hotel thinking it was on the island so then was dealing with disappointment before arrival ("we're in Svendborg!"). Turns out I think we were better off just to do a day trip to Aeroe and to enjoy our evening in Svendborg at this hotel. Lovely bar, excellent breakfast and quiet, comfortable rooms. Also good nearby restaurants. Details that I appreciated: Kleenex in the room!!! Svendborg is lovely.”
“There was a good range of choice at breakfast including bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs, although the coffee was not good. The location is perfect for the ferry to Ærø, literally where the ferry docks. And just a short walk to the train station and town.”

“I chose the hotel Aero because of the location, which is close to the ferry departure for the Island of Aero. Our room was on the top floor, 39, with an outlook to the harbour from the end of the balcony. It was really quiet, no noise from the ferry warf. We had an excellent dinner at the hotel and all the staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was really good with plenty of healthy choices. I can't wait to return to Svendborg and spend more than 2 nights at this lovely old hotel.”
