“Spectacular views, food; beautiful, restful place to stay in the French Basque countryside”
“Hotel Arce is a very nice hotel located in a picturesque village in the French Basque region, just over the border from Spain. I recommend this hotel if you want to do the many outdoor activities in the area. There is a gorgeous, moderately difficult hike that starts directly from the hotel and climbs 1600 ft (500 meters) up via an old smuggler's route to a pass at the Spanish border. At the top of the hike you can enjoy a hearty three course lunch at the restaurant located at the top of the pass (also accessable via car).”
“This is such an idyllic gem! I can't wait to come back. The river setting is stunning and so peaceful. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. It really is such a special hotel and we felt very lucky we found it.”
