“This hotel is more like a motel, and with a pet it was good to have your own front door and space to allow the dog out late night and early morning. Although close to a road the insulation cut out all noise. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the en-suite good, although the shower/wet room did make the complete floor wet. Stayed in November and the heating was good, altogether a comfortable night but maybe a one night stay unless you are on business. Parking was just by the door.”
“The bed was very confortable. The hotel was very easy to reach from the highway. The breakfast is in a close building, less than a minute walk. The bread, cheese and croasants are very tastefull. For late check in there is a automat that expend the key. It is tricky to find the place for the credit card. It helps to use a light (from the mobile phone, for example)”
“ROOMS VERY NEW UNIT IS NEW ROOMS ARE SET ON HILL BEHIND THE RESTAURANT MOTEL STYLE BUT VERY GOOD STOP-OVER. ON OUR VISIT IS WAS BASTILE DAY AND THE RESTAURANT WAS SHUT SO WE DROVE 6KM INTO PERIGUEX WELL WORTH IT VERY GOOD CHOICE OF RESTAURANTS EXCELLENT VALUE VERY HISTORIC TOWN HAS TO BE SEEN.MADE UP FOR THE SHUT RESTAURANT.BREAKFAST WAS IN THE RESTAURANT VERY GOOD SELF SERVICE BUT WIDE SELECTION AND FRIENDLY OWNER HELPFUL NOT VERY GOOD ENGLISH BUT WORTH A STOP OVER.”

“The room with facilities for disabled was excellent. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Fantastic shower. Staff were very kind and put in an extra bed for no extra cost. Lovely to have an electric kettle. Restaurant on site - the pizza's were extremely good value.... they were huge, one is big enough for two people. And the room was extremely good value too.”

“L'Escale is a motel (only level floor) located 15 minutes south of Perigueux. We always book one of the two available 3-person/handicapped rooms (the rest are 2-person rooms). We have stayed here 4 times now. - Easy late check-in machine (although the credit card slot is bit tricky to spot in the dark - tip: use the flash light of your phone) - Car can be parked close to uneven rooms. Very nice for unloading, compared to other hotels. The even rooms have grass in front (nice for longer stays). - Very spacious room and bath room for this price class - Unique: one double bed + one single bed side by side. Can easily be converted into one big family bed. - 2016: Now has water boiler and tea tray. Very nice extra. - Free wifi - The comfort of the hotel alone makes it worth a longer stay.”
