“The Hotel is in a calm and pretty setting by a mill. The room was comfortable and well equipped including tea making facilities. Dinner was exceptional and breakfast delicious. The owners are a lovely couple and |I am sure we will go there again.”

“This is our sixth stay at Le Chantoiseau -- we stop over there every year on our way down to the Black Forest. The setting is spectacular, on the site of an old water mill, with the river Aire running alongside the property. The rooms are moderately spacious, very clean, and very quiet. The rooms also have air conditioning, a huge plus when the weather is very hot. The restaurant is excellent. It is set in the old mill with a relaxing "rustic" decor, and the food is superb. The breakfast buffet is also very good -- better than you will find at most of the chain hotels. But the best treat of all are the owners, who are very friendly and welcoming. The beauty of the location would make this a good place for a longer stopover for a couple or family wanting to explore the surrounding area. We would never stay anywhere else.”

“A lovely waterside setting and it's location is secluded. The staff/owners were very helpful and friendly. The room was well proportioned and the bed was very comfy, in fact the bed could be adjusted electronically to lift your head and/or legs. Breakfast was plentiful and served in it's own room by the waterside. We also ate our evening meal there due to it's remote setting and the food was lovely and served on the terrace next to the watermill.”

“Lovely location, restaurant located in the old water mill. Check in for the hotel is in the restaurant, as is check out. Room and hotel generally clean, spacious and well equipped. Food in the restaurant absolutely wonderful especially as hotel guests receive a discount menu. Weather was very hot so air con in the hotel a real bonus. Chaumont sur Aire is a little out of the way but it is worth the diversion to stay at this hotel. My wife speaks French but if you do not both the owner and his wife speak good English.”

“The staff were superb and made us so welcome. We felt the meals in the restaurant were outstanding and the breakfast included lots of homemade produce. The room was large, clean, comfortable and we had wonderful views across the river. The location was great for visiting the battlefields. We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again on another visit to the region”
