“The room was very comfortable. Bed clean. We stayed a week and the bed was changed twice in that time. It was very cold outside, it was November, but very warm and cosy in our beautiful red room. Thank goodness there was a restaurant in hotel, which was very special, because there wasn’t much else open!! Hosts couldn’t have helped us any more than they did. They were very knowledgeable of the area. Great continental breakfast. Adrian and Sharon even put Christmas tree up which looked fabulous. Also arranged a birthday cake and singing staff for me. Ahhh. 😘”
“Incredibly welcoming owners who couldn’t do enough for us. I slept like a baby as the bed was very comfortable and to have an excellent restaurant on the premises was a real bonus.”
“Lovely little hotel with a "real" French queen bed. Owners helped us find a great restaurant as the hotel restaurant was closed. I would definitely stay there again.”
“Good location with friendly welcoming owners . The restaurant is excellent.”
“Lovely continental breakfast. Adrian and Sharon gave us a very friendly welcome and were most obliging. The restaurant Escapade des Sens is top notch and very reasonably priced.”
“very welcoming and made to feel at home, we were upgraded to the family room which was awesome and very comfy and cosy!”
“Really nice hotel and a very warm welcome from the owners Adrian and Sharon. Room was very nice and dinner fantastic.”
“A big house probably the home of a professional person a century ago or more, well proportioned. We have all had the experience of a bedroom and bath room that you could not swing a cat in ; in this instance you would have been able to swing an elephant and still not touch the sides. Simply, it was huge. I was welcomed by the lady of the house with a big beaming smile having caught her fragranti delicto ...watering the garden. This is not a negative comment , my timing could have been better. The hotel was in the process of reorganisation. There was a new kitchen being fitted. The chef would be taking responsibility for the kitchen and dinning room as a separate entity. I met the chef ;a young man and passionate about food. An establishment to keep an eye on.”
“We stayed just one night before beginning to walk a section of the chemin de Compostelle. The auberge was charming and the hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The evening meal was absolutely delicious”
“I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of April after booking fairly last minute and I was very happy my selection. Adrian and Sharon run the hotel and were very welcoming. I had a double room on the top floor in the eaves of the building that was very snug, with the old original beams showing and velux windows letting in plenty of light. Ensuite bathroom was a good size and looked new. Breakfast was simple and delicious - fresh bread, croissants and pain au raisin (by request!) accompanied by a home made yogurt or fruit salad. There were meats ans cheeses for those who like that sort of thing for breakfast (not for me) and of course a choice of tea or coffee. There is off road parking at the back of the hotel which is handy but parking in the main road also wasnt a problem. Walking into the town of Thiviers only a couple of minutes away and they have a fantastic market on Saturdays. All in all it was a lovely stay here and i'd highly recommend it!”
