“The island is a beautiful place to roam. It is a very peaceful place. I accomplished a lot of reading. The food was very good and the staff was very kind. I wish I could have stayed longer. The boat ride to the hotel was very interesting. The stops were extremely educational. The hot water bottles in our room at night were delightful”
“Incomparable world class island, hotel, gardens, museum, etc. No filtered water though. Bottled water is an extra charge. My preference would be free guest access to filtered water to be consistent with the eco-resort concept. The staff lighting a fire in the room's fireplace was great and took the chill out of the air.”
“I did not book this hotel for other facilities close by as I knew it was the only hotel on this private island. I did however book it for the selling point of a relaxing retreat with massage and spa..... unfortunately when I got there, there was no massage available!”
“Amazing secluded location. Beautiful scenery. Loved the wood stove in our room.”
“The place is super cozy, the ambience is super relaxing and the location is beautiful. They have free kayak, and free walking tour around the island. Great place to relax.”
“Peaceful & relaxing. Not recommended for the adrenaline junkie. Amazing views, especially from the top of the hill at sunset.”
“Very beautiful and interesting way to visit the Titicaca. The views of the lake at sunset are magic. I stayed four nights, which was a bit too long. Note that it is rustic, there is no heating or electricity, other the than for lights, in the rooms. Even though there was no heat, the room was comfortable and I had no problem sleeping. It was definitely quiet at night. The boat ride over was great, it is a three hour trip so sit back and relax, on the way over you stop on an island that is famous for textile and get a bit of a touristy show, but it was fine. Being an amateur botanist/agriculturalist I appreciated seeing the gardens and what all kinds of plants can be grown at 13,500 feet.”
“This was a wonderful experience altogether; the Titicaca Lake is beautiful, and the hotel in the Suasi Island is spectacular!!! This environmentally friendly hotel is a wonderful place to feel nature at its best. The rooms are great with excellent views of the lake and the service is first rate. I recommend the hotel specially if you want to relax and re-connect with nature. All staff is friendly and efficient. It is worth every penny you spend!”
“The view is second to none, we loved every minute!”
“We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at Suasi. We were there for 2 nights during Christmas and it was the perfect time for relaxation after hiking the Inca Trail. Some reviewers have commented on poor service, but that was not our experience at all. Staff was super friendly and treated us like family, which was great when being away from family on Christmas. The grounds were spectacular, rooms were comfy with hot showers and a fire and hot water bottles at night. Food was good. Keep in mind that it is an ecolodge and that it is still located in Peru, so you might not be able to have every single 'first-world' need met at every moment. We went kayaking on the lake and hiked around the island, which was fun. Would highly recommend this place as a little splurge!”
