“The free breakfast is really good and much better than other American-style breakfasts I've had elsewhere in China. The restaurant is very spacious and comfortable to hang out in, too. The king room is great: the bed is really comfortable, the TV works, the Wi-Fi works, there are enough outlets, bedside tables, good towels, good toiletries, hot water, complimentary bottled water, and everything else that you expect. The staff are friendly, the location is good, the building is nice. The upstairs lounge is cool. It's just a short walk down to the water. They have washing machines and driers. Decent and reasonably priced desserts (I tried the carrot cake and the pecan pie). The place is more like a hotel than a hostel. I would definitely stay here again.”
“The staff at Kaiyue were extremely helpful and friendly. They all spoke English. The room and hostel generally were high quality and resembled a hotel in many ways. The included breakfasts were tasty and satisfying. The new-looking bar/restaurant was great: free pool table, sports and movies on tv, good tunes and great food and drink. While you are in Qingdao, I recommend you visit Beijiushui at Laoshan.”

“This has to be one of the best hostels I've stayed in. Really great value for money especially as you get vouchers for breakfast and some free drinks at the bar. Our room was large, clean and comfortable with a nice decor. The hostel is in an old baptist chapel and the style and decor of the whole building is lovely. The bar in the basement of the hostel is great with good food and drinks on offer and a relaxed atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. I hugely recommend staying at this hostel in Qingdao!”
