“It is expensive but very much worth it. It is such a beautifule and friendly place. Staff goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and at home. Very good breakfast as well in the courtyard. Perfect!”
“Wonderful unique genuine town. Worth the effort to get to. Delightful hotel, wonderful and informative hosts, great breakfast, lovely period building. A rambling walk through the town revealed many hidden treasures. And not a tourist in site.”
“Had a wonderful stay. Mauricio and the staff were very friendly and helped us plan activities in the town and nearby San Felix. Mauricio also helped us get a ride back to Medellin with his family since public transportation is crazy during holy week. A great feature is they let you have a late breakfast, even at 11am! Excellent hotel, theres a reason that it is so acclaimed. Come to Salamina and check it out! Thanks to everyone at Casa de Lola Garcia!”
“I have to thank Mauricio for his flexibility with room changes and most of all for having arranged a visit of a coffee finca at the impossible time of 7 a.m., which was one of the absolute highlights of my travel. Muchissimas gracias una vez más!”
“What a lovely place! I was warmly greeted and cared for here, enjoyed a delicious breakfast, slept well and appreciated the interesting Casa itself. Highly recommended!”
“There's nothing we would change about this hotel. The architecture and decor are stunning, the owner Mauricio was warm and friendly, and the food was delicious. He arranged a wax palm tour with an English speaking guide (another Mauricio!) who provided us with a once in a lifetime day-long trek through the gorgeous mountains and farmland. It was the highlight of our trip to Colombia. Oh, and the hotel location: what a lovely town this is. And nearly untouched by tourism. Hopefully its charms will largely remain a secret, so it doesn't change...”
“The Casa de Lola is an exceptional place. As much a labour of love by the owner, Mauricio, and a symbol of the regeneration of the town of Salamina after many years of conflict, as a hotel. Salamina itself is a charming town in a spectacular location, totally safe and full of friendly and helpful people.”
“Great hosts; Mauricio, Hans, and Gloria were all so friendly and helpful. Mauricio helped us arrange a great tour up to San Felix to see the wax palms as well as a tour of a coffee farm nearby. Gloria prepared us delicious breakfast each morning and Hans helped interpret as my Spanish is no muy bueno.”
“top location, wonderfully restaurated, nice helpful international staff”
