The location, isolated in the center of a very small village on the square with a medieval fortified church. Very well located to travel around (Vezelay, Arcy sur Cure caves, etc..). “Day 6 of cycling tour. Town is next to canal but on top of one of the steepest hills I've pushed a pannier laden bike up. But worth it for the view. Lovely 'old world' hotel. Comfortable room overlooking the courtyard where we had our evening meal - delicious and splashed out on a very nice Sancerre. Not modern, full of character which we like,. Inside, old dark wood and some quirky furniture (combined wardrobe and grandmother clock). Bathroom had bath and handheld shower attachment not shower cubicle. In August after a day in the saddle to sit in a bath of cold water is luxury. The patron very friendly. To get back to the canal after a delicious breakfast was the work of moments, what went up came down very quickly.”
