“Los Castaños is located in Cartajima, a city very close to Ronda (around 20min by car). We spent one night there after visiting Ronda and on our way to Granada. I regretted not spend 2 nights there. Cartajima is a city where the time seems to stop. Not because of the age of the city, but due to the tranquility, only break with the church bell and the swallows singing in the sunset. It was like we were being hosted by family or friends. The hotel looks like a house with some guest rooms and has cozy decoration. They served drinks before the dinner and we had it while watching the sunset (dinner is optional but I suggest you take it). Likewise, the breakfast was excellent. Bathroom amenities are made from local olive oil and the room was much comfortable. There are some tracking close by, winers visiting and El Caminito Del Rey to go while you stay in Los Castaños.”

“Wonderful introduction to a Spanish exploration. Di and John perfect hosts - unobtrusive but readily on hand and very helpful. Room comfortable and cool - a quick 5 minute blast of aircon to take away afternoon heat and then comfortable with just the open windows. Room 1 just allows a view of the infamous card school at the bar below. Di's cooking was fab, and the simple restaurant by the pool was lively and friendly with flood simple food. ”
