“Very close to the train station, but not noisy at all. The staff were cheerful and always helpful. They even had "loaner" umbrellas for when it rained. Breakfast was very good, with coffee made to order.”
“Like many buildings in the old cities of Italy, it is a restored property with two foot thick stone walls, tiny bathroom shoehorned into a room but I found it very comfortable. The small lobby had many historic drawings of Lucca, and simple breakfast was good, they made great Cafe Americano for breakfast. It is outside the walls of the old city but not far and very close to the train station.”
“The triple room was spacious and room for 3 bags. The bathroom was a good size and a very good shower with good water pressure. Great to open the window but also good shutters and curtains for darkness at night. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices and very good cappuccino. We would certainly stay at Moderno again.”
“Given that we choose our accommodation for its nearness to train stations and points of interest this hotel ticked all the boxes. The staff were really lovely and very accommodating. While the old city was a three minute walk away we were able to enjoy the local restaurants close to the hotel. Would recommend this hotel.”
