“This castle is fantastic. Like being on a movie set. Food is over the top. The dining table seats about 20. Everyone eats together. It is really like a happy throw back to the early 19th century”

“Super sea view from bedroom and all front of castle rooms. Very comfortable bed. Very interesting rooms : paintings, carvings, clock, ornaments etc .several lounges to enjoy.. Very laid back -relaxed atmosphere. Enjoyed eating at the long table with everyone..Met the owner and some of his family - charming and friendly. Wonderful experience - it made my holiday on Harris very special and memorable.”
“A wonderful experience in a stunning location. Dinner in a formal setting was at 8pm with canapés, an honesty bar and truffles and coffee served in the reading room afterwards.The food quality was excellent including breakfast and we loved getting acquainted with the other guests .We arrived only minutes before after coming straight off the last ferry of the day so wish we'd caught the earlier one so we didn't have to rush . Lovely lounge area for reading ,relaxing and you could even have permission to play after dinner on their grand Steinway piano! It would be a great place to come for a weekend to get the value out of the price of the accommodation.”

“Excellent place. Upscale in terms of pricing but worth it if you can afford. Takes time to get into there, good for solitude and meditation type of rest. Real castle where owners live off season. Somewhat like living in someone's home. Service is also family alike with all pros and cons”
“This is a wild, remote location. You are treated as house guests - an honesty bar, dining together (there were 15 of us one evening, sitting around the one table) and free run of the property. We had an enormous bed with divine feather pillows. There are lounges for sitting, rivers for fishing and hills to climb. Perfect.”
