“Lovely, peaceful hotel on the West Bank an easy walk from the ferry. Away from the hassle, touts and mayhem of the East Bank. Restaurant on-site serving lovely meals in the pretty courtyard. Nice, spacious room with balcony looking into the courtyard and a roof terrace for chilling and watching the sun go down or sun bathing. The bed was really comfy, much needed after trekking around all day taking in the sites. Lovely staff were some of the nicest we met in Egypt, they even packed us a breakfast to go and offered to run us to the ferry because we had to leave early to catch the bus. Friendly, informal places like this beat large impersonal hotels every time.”
“Mohammed the owner takes time everyday to make sure all his guests are taken care of. He makes you feel like part of his family. The courtyard garden is magical...we ate there during our entire stay.”
“A truly Egyptian experience which is what I wanted. Loved the garden courtyard restaurant and the hum of activity there. Loved the house man who enjoyed making towel shapes! There's a good library and indoor dining area which we didn't need to use. The plants in the garden are tagged for identification which is helpful. Breakfast included was very good. Good to have on site restaurant. Easy walk to the banks of the Nile through the village street is interesting and safe. My taxi needed to get directions from villagers to find the property but it's well known in the district. The ferry across to the other bank is within easy walking distance making this a good place to stay to explore the important sites on both banks of the Nile.”
“They have a beautiful garden inside the hotel and hotel people are really nice and very helpful. ”
“Wonderful, peaceful garden and roof top. The owners can help with trips.”
“I loved the botanic garden and Om Ali.☺ I also had the best trips organised for me, although I had a really short visit, I went everywhere in Luxor.😃”
“Nice, clean, affordable, quiet, helpful staff, and good internet service”
“Everything was perfect. The room, the food, the garden, the staff. But the staff was the best ever. Kind , friendly, informative. Because of the needs of a medical situation they will forever have our gratitude.”
“Friendly staff, clean room, Garden/Restaurant area very clean and a good place to hang out. You can get wifi signal and there are also power sockets in the garden so if you do want to sit around for a long afternoon outside it's no problem. --Getting there--(2017 review price) If you are coming from the train station it's about £20-£30 Egyptian taxi to the public ferry.(15 minute walk) £1 for the public ferry one way. Walk from public ferry about 8 minutes. When you get off the ferry head a little left (basically follow everyone else) up the main street you will see a sign for Amon hotel there are 3 signs pointing you in the direction closer to the hotel. The hotel is in more of a village style surroundings people will happily point you in the right direction. When you have done it once its no hassle at all.”
“The price is very beautiful. They have a wonderful garden, various plants, many little animals like cats pigeons and turtles. Working staffs are very nice, friendly and thoughtful. Clean room and quiet surroundings. Thank for lending me hair drier.”
