“The staff were very helpful and pleasant, over and above what one might expect. They spoke very good English. The hotel was in a good location and the rooms had interesting window seats from which one could watch the world go by. The breakfast was good and quite varied and the view from the dining room is of the lake which is particularly pretty at night.”

“My double-bedroom was large and quiet although it was facing the street/lake as the windows were double-glazed. The reception staff were all very polite and helpful especially Bruce and Michele. They all speak adequate English which made anything easier! And they arranged for tours and transport to and fro airport. The hotel is just across the lakes which are very beautiful day and night. Very good for morning and evening walks around them”

We enjoyed the free tea tasting including a small tour in an art gallery as well as the free walking tour around the park nearby where the four lakes with the pagodas are. We learnt a lot about Guilin history and culture through these free tours offered by the hotel. The hotel and the rooms themselves were beautifully decorated in old Chinese style and we would have loved to stay longer!”

Helpful before we arrived, helpful while we were there, and even helped organise things for us with our next hotel. An excellent standard of English with the staff really helps, but the staff are genuinely friendly, helpful and eager to please. Special thanks to Michella and Bruce for their warm hospitality. The hotel is in a great location and the hosted evening walk around the lakes was well appreciated. It's a smaller boutique hotel but very charming with the old artefacts etc. Very comfortable room and an excellent breakfast. We couldn't fault! Our only regret - we'd only booked one night. But we will be back!”
