“Lovely view from front of hotel. Bar area and food was very good. Bed was very comfortable.”
“The room was quite small for a 'de luxe double', especially for one adult and two youngsters and the cupboard space and number of hangars were inadequate. There is no air con, but there is a fan, which was not terribly efficient. I would have preferred to have been given the option of two intercommunicating rooms, since the two youngsters are teenagers. The staff are all without exception absolutely wonderful. We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. It is a lovely hotel, with great facilities. It is true to say that the first lunch and the evening meal was rather, well, slow, and we waited ages to order and to obtain our meals and drinks, but the staff did later apologise and offered not to charge us for our after dinner coffee and hot milk. Maitre d'hôtel was very good and smoothed our ruffled feathers in an instant! We all loved our stay at the Balmer Lawn and shall be returning there.”
“We booked online two room both twins, when we pressed the process button it changed to one double and one twin. My husband rang up to check it was ok to have 2 twins and was told it would be fine. On arrival (we deliberately arrived early)we asked again Ok to have 2 twins and there was at this point a query over the booking, but were told it would be sorted out whilst we went out for lunch. On our return nothing had been sorted.”

“This is a great hotel in a great area of natural beauty. Horses and deer and cattle wandering free all around you. It's also a great hotel for history buffs, the D Day landings were planed in this hotel with the British generals and American generals staying there. The surrounding areas were packed with troops ready to go. ”
