“The location, value, and it's where we stayed on our honeymoon 26 yrs ago!”
“Loved the food at the inn and the feeling of being at a home away from home.”
“When you first enter, you feel like you went back in time. There are no TVs at the Inn. Just nature, rocking on the porch, hiking and fireplace in the common area along with board games, puzzles and a library. The food was delicious!!!!”
“The inn was beautiful and quaint. The staff was friendly, and breakfast was great. We loved the hot beverages available in the library.”
“Overall the inn is a 'tired Lady'. However, the staff and especially Debbie at the front desk rock!! Dinner was excellent and breakfast was substantial. We will return in the Spring for the song festival.”
“One of the best experiences we've had! Authentic hotel with more than 100 years of history. Attention to detail is at its best, with furniture, fireplaces, library, even locks, windows, and radiators all contributing to the unique historic feel. Location is excellent for visiting the Smoky Mountains or exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway (what we did) - and relaxing near the fireplace after a day outdoors is a great experience itself. Staff is friendly, and the restaurant is very good, too - we enjoyed every meal we chose for the dinner. To be clear: this is not your average hotel, and it's not top-notch (hardwood floor will squeak, there are signs of wear and tear, etc.) - but it's truly unique, and we don't regret a minute spent there!”
“The lobby games, fireplaces, and the library were nice surprises”
“Location Pictures are deceiving! The place had charm if you like the smell of mildew. I took a picture of the shower with black mold growing on the walls. At 10pm, can't sit on the porch, they turn the gas fire place off and silently encourage people to go to their room. Breakfast don't bother. We did say right upfront we paid for an upgraded room, right away they said they were totally booked, I ask for the reduce rated room to be credit.”
“Beautiful building and original style. Will be back.”
“We liked the quaint, antiquated hotel. We loved the various sitting areas that provided opportunities to socialize with other guests. The hotel dining experience was exquisite. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating.”
