“Most people are turned away by the rustic charm of the ptarmigan, I however enjoyed it. Yes it is an older hotel, but I feel that they make up for this with all their amenities available and included. In our short stay we were greeted by the front counter staff readily with a cheery attitude and smile, had abundent underground parking, found our room with relative ease, we were upgraded to a superior room at the hotels bequest. Each morning we enjoyed a hot breakfast buffet (included in our cost) every night enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. It's right downtown but still quiet. Only a couple minutes walk to everything in town, they even had transit passes available for us if we wanted to hit the hot springs or wander banff. Our room was quiet and warm, the beds were more comfortable than our own. They made special effort towards being charming, little touches like rocky mountain soap in the bathroom. Whatever time we went down to the lobby there was always someone at the frontdesk. Definitely going back and recommending them and their great staff to anyone who asks where the best place to stay in Banff is (or even Canmore).”

“Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, well located in the Main Street and close to everything, breakfast was very good. We highly recommend the view rooms at the front of the hotel with spacious living and bath rooms as well as a fire place, table and chairs. The staff were most hospitable.”
