“Bastide Rose surpassed all expectations. It is undoubtedly one of our favourite hotels ever. It was so splendid that we could have stayed there completely contented without even exploring the neighbouring towns. Engaging, friendly, excellent cuisine, grounds full of sculptures, installations and other art work, an island to visit and so much more. Imagine visiting Charleston, the home of the Bloomsbury set and being allowed to stay. La Bastide Rose will appeal to those who want to escape without the bling and bustle. “This was a charming place to stay with comfortable rooms and all the facilities we needed. The owner Poppy Salinger was so welcoming and we felt part of the family albeit for only 3 nights. Her son Emanuel was quite a character and very amusing but most of all he was a superb chef and we had one of his gourmet meals sitting in the kitchen and watching him cook. Recommended to anyone who wants something different than an average hotel room.”

What made our stay so special was the owners were so kind and friendly. The breakfast was lovely, but the evening meal was like a piece of art to look at and tasted amazing. We will return very soon. “La bastide était très originale ainsi que l'ambiance. Madame Poppy, raffinée, élégante et absolument charmante, nous a accueillis avec une grande simplicité comme si nous étions de la famille. Nous avons également profité de deux délicieux diners préparés par le chef Emmanuel absolument originaux et étonnants de simplicité et de recherche en même temps. Un vrai délice aussi bien gustatif qu'en ressenti personnel, le Chef était plein d'humour et nous avons bien profité de son agréable compagnie. Nous n'avions pas envie de partir...”
