“For us, the location. We wanted a hotel close to the airport (we had a 6:30 a.m.departure) but we also wanted to stay on Shelter Island. We lived in Point Loma 37 years ago and wanted to be in close proximity to friends. Being close to the airport, there is noise with outgoing flights, but we knew that and it was not a concern for us. The hotel rooms have been renovated and are very comfortable. When we made our reservation we requested a room/balcony that looked out on the marina and we did get that. The hotel was clean. The front desk person who checked us in was friendly, welcoming, all good. Ditto for the rest of the hotel staff. We recommend a great restaurant in Point Loma -- the Venetian.”
