“Very cozy room overlooking the State Park on the Eel River. Nice afternoon tea service in the lobby, and as an added touch, after dinner sherry in our room. Lovely grounds behind the Inn, with steps down to a tributary of the Eel River where we saw river otters!”
“Classic Roadhouse with class. Location in the redwoods and excellent restaurant. ”
“This is a beautiful old historic hotel. We were notified by the hotel in advance that they were renovating and we were pleased that they have realised the need to keep such a gem in good service. We had a wonderful lunch and dinner, both a la carte. Only stayed one night but we were allowed an early check-in.”
“Beautiful historic building. Authentic atmosphere. Large terrace and garden.”
“Very friendly staff and nice ambiance. Our room was very comfortable. Afternoon tea with scones was a nice touch.”
“This hotel was gorgeous. We stayed here in between our visit to Glass Beach and the Redwoods. I wish we could have stayed longer. The property was beautiful even though part of it was under construction. The staff was great and we definitely got a chance to unwind. No elevator, but the stairs up to our room were so elegantly carved that it added to the charm. Our dinner on the patio was great, very upscale and included rolls with homemade butter. Complementary coffee and tea in the morning in grand room where classical music was playing. We walked around the grounds and took in the scenery. It is right by the river. ”
“2 reading chairs with light, plus desk chair; 2 luggage racks. Nice, but small bathroom, with excellent shower. Poolside patio with option of taking meals there. Attentive staff. Excellent, though pricey meal.”
“excellent location, a short drive from the magnificent Avenue of the Giants. Dinner on the terrace over looking the river was superb, the maitre d' and the chef both attentive and interested.”
“Beautiful vintage hotel - super special. Nice live music to accompany dinner on the patio!”
“Staff was friendly and helpful. Food and service were great!”
