“The room, like the hotel, had character, but was rather small compared to more modern hotels and the heavy furniture took up a lot of room. Double bed rather than king size and only one chair which wasn't particularly comfortable. Okay for one night but we wouldn't have wanted to stay there for an extended period. Stables restaurant offers a good range of food and is popular, hence service is a little slow. Booking recommended at busy periods. Breakfast in the Eden Room was excellent and well worth the additional cost. Staff were very friendly and helpful.”
