“The hotel staff was amazing. We could not get close to the hotel by our taxi the night we arrived due to the festival of lights and street closures so the staff met us several blocks away to help us bring our luggage to the hotel. The hotel was lovingly restored by the owner as it was the owners childhood home owned by his grandmother. The facility was beautiful. The restaurant the Bistro Carlota is worth the stay on its own. The chef Fipo prepared an amazing dinner the night we arrived and lunch the next afternoon for us - it was a culinary treat as good as anywhere you could find. He is a true artist as a chef. Even if you didn't stay at the hotel the dining experience at the Bistro Carlota is well worth the visit itself. We can highly recommend the hotel and restaurant without reservation - it made of stay in Quito that much more enjoyable.”
“The staff were amazing! The Sunday Brunch on the rooftop was wonderful and Chef Fipo's passion for food showed! (Ask for the Ramsey eggs). I had one of the best soups I've ever had in the Bistro, which was the traditional Ecuadorian Locro de Papa. My favorite meals were here at the hotel. Though centrally located, it was incredible quiet. Beautifully and lovingly renovated. The hotel arranged for a driver to pick me up from the airport, which I highly recommend especially if you are coming in late at night. I don't remember the drivers name, but he was also terrific. I highly recommend both the hotel and the bistro! I can't imagine staying anywhere else!”
“The location of this hotel is very central to the historic sites in the old town of Quito. This is a very well done re-modeled historic home that tastefully combines the old with the newl The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The front desk staff is extremely pleasant and helpful! Claudia is very kind and always willing to be of assistance. The restaurant has fantastic food and the head chef, Philippi has a passion for his craft and combines traditional foods with his own flare. We highly recommend this hotel and restaurant.”
“We felt like family at the Carlota. We stayed there for 8 nights over our 5 week trip. The staff is exceptional, as is the hotel. I can easily say that staying at the Carlota was my favorite hotel experience, ever. Our room, 111, was perfect for 2 persons, small but very efficient. Breakfast was included. Each breakfast included fresh fruit, homemade bread, jams and butter plus eggs or waffles and coffee. The Carlota is a gem of a hotel. I can't wait to return!”
