“A delightful place on the top of a hill. Lovely views in the evening. Wonderful staff. The main wing of the castle is lived in by the family and the rest of it is given over to guests. So there are a small number of rather charming staff members who you get to know personally. There are only about a dozen rooms so the feel is very personal. Think coming to stay with your aristocratic aunt on her country estate and you'll get the idea. The restaurant is rather good and the estate wine is excellent. The staff here are, again, superb. It's not really a real castle - more of a folly. But that's not a bad thing. Real castles are somewhat demanding.”
