“This place is the center of a rural village unspoiled by large scaletourism. There are no tuk-tuks. No beggars. Nobody hassling for money.No idiots chasing you down the street - zero. Nobody tried to take us toa carpet shop or tell us the hotel had burned down.We hired a driver from Jodhpur - he said the last time he had been to Chandelaoh was more than 2 years.You can take photos of the locals and they happily laugh and pose (because you are their entertainment). It is a photographers dream.The village is clean - no open drains.We saw peacocks, deer, gazelle, monkeys, and 2m tall Siberian cranes nearby plus 20+ species of birds.The gahr does have a very nice, very clean pool (not mentioned on the web site).Recommend you get one of the staff to walk you around the village - people are happy to show you into their homes - we saw a side of India totally different to the cities.”

“Chandelao Garh is a beautifully restored heritage place, full of charm , makes you feel pleasant and welcome, an oases of tranquility to stop and get a break if you are traveling around Rajahstan. I stayed only one night but immediately when I got there, regretted for not staying longer.”

“They ripped off. Overcharged for snacks. We had 2 snacks + dinner for two. They charged 7500 + vat. They didn't share it before check in. And ripped us off with a fat bill in the end. Very bad strategy to make profit. Also snacks were not cooked well”

“A converted fort in a small village in the middle of nowhere. Great for recharging batteries away from noise and people. Staff are really lovely and the food is superbe and cheap. Roof terrace perfect for sitting and watching life go by. The place feels a little bit run down but this adds to the charm, as does the owner”
