“The place is basic but extremely clean with very very nice owner and family. We booked the two rooms for our family, one of them had hot water (not common n Sri Lanka)so we could share the shower when needed We were there on the Sri -Lankan new year and on the holiday the owner and mother treated us to some very delicious cakes and other food varieties for breakfast The rooms are on the beach which is almost private. we were mainly interested in surfing so we took a tuk tuk every morning to Hiriketya beach (~10 minutes) good value per money”

“Nice little guest house at a very quiet, almost private beach. Very friendly and hospitable owner, giving guests a warm welcome with a freshly picked coconut. Comfortable room, with nice little terrace in front. Very warmly helping family that really took care of me when I was ill (flu), thanks!”

“What a delightful little place. Two rooms run by a family whose house backs right onto the beach. There was a private little garden, tended to by mum where we ate, and they laid out chairs for us to sit on the beach. Everything had been thought of so a place for shoes, a tap to wash your feet, a small table and chair outside your room, a place to hang wet things. Room is basic but reflected in the price you pay so no aircon and cold water shower. Otherwise clean and comfortable, and you can ask them to store drinks in their fridge. The sons are both lovely and cooked us a wonderful fish dinner in the evening. Had a lovely chat with them both.They can organise trips if you need it. Just relax and listen to the waves crash on the beach!”

“If you want to hear nothing but the waves outside as you fall asleep, and be hosted by the kindest, sweetest local family, this is the place for you! Just two rooms at the moment make this place so intimate. It has a rustic feel but good facilities and is very clean and well maintained. They don't have 'hot water' but often the water was warm anyway from the sun on the tank. An empty, scenic beach is out front. Though NB the sea isn't very clear or relaxing for swimming - it's a lot calmer in the bay next door and at Hiriketiya. I ended up staying an extra night, visiting Hiriketiya in the day and sitting watching the waves or chatting to the family at Duwawaththa in the morning and evening.”

“Breakfast and dinner was delicious and enough of it to feed the whole village, but it was expensive in comparison to eating out locally. Very helpful organising onward travel. Be sure to snorkel with the turtles in the next bay.”

“The host and his mother are very nice and helpful. Wonderful Location directly at a quiet Beach. Hiriketiya Beach for surfing only a few Kilometers away. Rooms and bathroom very nice, much more comfortable and clean than you would expect in this price Segment. Overall easily the best accomodation I had in two months of travel in Sri Lanka!”
