“very nice authentic historic hotel, restaurants within walking distance”
“This was a wonderful historic hotel. The room was very nice, albeit older, with a good view. The location was great, near historic sites and good restaurants. I appreciated their pet-friendly environment.”
“The bar is nice and the breakfast is OK. The lobby is showing some historic artefacts...”
“how the renovation took into account the history of the area.”
“It truly was historic, so that was nice. The dining area and exhibits were really nice to look at”
“Quaint, felt closer to history. Near several attractions.”
“It was nice being right in town, but that's about it.”
“Great for an overnight stay. The bed was comfortable and the view was absolutely wonderful from our room! It was quite a treat to stay in an historic hotel!”
“Very good breakfast included in price. Great selection.”
“The Plains Hotel is on the historic registry and the history; the restoration, is charming. Unfortunately, the substandard things (see other answers) tend to outweigh the charm. MOSTS of the staff went out of their way to be accommodating. Alisya (probably spelled wrong) at the desk was simply wonderful. Brian was definitely helpful. Housekeeping came to our door and asked if there was anything she could do to make our stay nicer (she was super friendly and courteous), the kitchen/restaurant help was great. The two gentlemen that shuttled us back and forth to the parking area (in the snow) were cheerful and pleasant.”
