“Great Spanish place to stay. Full of character and lovely staff. Excellent food. Plenty of parking.”

“The welcome was friendly and the room pleasant and spacious with a nice view. There was a Spanish ambience about the place, especially the outside area for dining or having a drink throughout the day. It was always busy in a good way. We had an excellent meal in the evening. There is a supermarket in the village.We would go again.”

“This hotel is great value for money and the bar prices for beer and food are very reasonable. The beds are comfortable and made-up everyday. The showers are super powerful and there is air-con in the room. All sorts of food is available in the bar area. The free wi-fi was very good but it was a bit weak in the bedroom annex.”

“If traveling by car, el cortijo is great because of ample parking and directly off the highway. The attached bar and restaurant are very popular and lively on weekend. Close to recreation sites in la sierra. The rooms are at back of property, very clean and quiet. Cute common areas.”

“Lovely people..we arrived on a Sunday afternoon when the Restaurant/Hostal was jam packed with locals, clearly enjoying a very popular Sunday lunch venue. The manager/owner was absolutely lovely, showed us to our room and made sure we were ok, even though he was clearly run off his feet. The surrounding are very nice, even though it is just off a road ( quiet though, and really easy to locate...no windy roads, nice views across the valley-not spectacular, like the countryside nearby, but still really lovely). We liked the location, we liked the people...I think it helps if you have a smattering of Spanish and use it. The food looked great, though we didn't have time to try it, sadly. We headed to Arcos De La Frontera for the evening, and had a house viewing the next day in Algondonales. Hostal El Cortijo was a super economical and friendly stopover. Familyrun, proper Spain. Would happily return.”

“Room was sooo quiet and peaceful. Cleanliness is excellent. Parking just outside room . Restaurant and bar open till late at night and very reasonable prices And just outside rooms! . Easy to find place as it is on one side of road. Petrol station opposite. Algodonales town is just 2 kilometres away.”
