“Hello, the beauty of this property is the owner himself. Peter, as written of by another reviewer, is the kind of host that exemplifies what the title suggests. Chocolates on the bed upon welcoming, a personal showing of the room, absolutely clean and spacious. A phone call to reserve a table for myself and my wife with the only restaurant open on the Monday night. Which has filling quality food. Equally, a complimentary breakfast in the hotel is pleasant, and selective of a German plate. Of the month-long travel, including London, Paris, Amsterdam, and small towns, this property in the Black Forest wins for its serene atmosphere and lovely presentation. My ambition is to go back and further enjoy this tranquil and interesting place. Thank you, Peter.”
“The owner was very helpful and welcoming. He personally escorted us to our room, made dinner suggestions and reservations for us at a local restaurant (which was amazing) and made a wonderful breakfast the next morning. The room was well appointed and the decor was darling. Fantastic location in the heart of the Black Forest!”

“This is a gorgergeous guest house in the quaint little village of Shonwald in the Black Forest. The property is beautifully presented, the rooms are spotlessly clean with a lovely balcony overlooking the forest. Our host Peter was extremely friendly and helpful providing advice on where to have dinner and even providing directions which enabled us to enjoy a pleasant walk through the forest to the venue. Breakfast was beautifully presented and one of the best we have had in our month long holiday. Would highly recommend staying here.”
