“El Baz was an extremely attentive owner/chef who looked after us well. I find it difficult to describe the hotel which is an old palace with beautiful rooms and a very large kitchen where you can see ElBaz preparing the meals. We had sherry, olives and cheese once we had settled in. The swimming pool was very dissapointing as it was not clean so we didn't use it. The bathroom in our room had three light bulbs broken and the hair dyer was working but falling to bits. We were the only guests. We had a four course meal which was excellant but no choice and wine was included, finishing with a port style wine. We have a holiday home nearby and have walked past the hotel on a number of occasions and have wanted to stay there as it looks magnificent inside. We are thinking of visiting again with friends as it was such an interesting experience although I do hope we are the only guests again!!”

“Hospitality provided by El Baz and his family was outstanding. All meals were superb. Fine dining every night. Swordfish and prawns, eye fillet, sorbet between courses, and delicious desserts. All freshly prepared by chef El Baz. A never ending supply of fresh fruit, cheese and wine throughout the day meant that relaxing in the courtyard and by the pool at Hotel Casapalaciega was a real highlight of our trip to Spain. Prices for accommodation, food and drinks were very reasonable considering the quality of the service, produce and meals. The beautiful restoration of the building and El Baz's personal service and authentic delicious cooking make this hotel a very special place.”

“Wir waren in einer klassisch eingerichteten Juniorsuite mit einem Whirlpool im Badezimmer. Sehr gutes marokkanisch geprägtes Abendessen, durch den charmanten, aufmerksamen Hotelchef zubereitet. Das Hotel ist ein prächtiger alter Palazzo mit entsprechend hohem Unterhaltsaufwand, was sich stellenweise bemerkbar macht.”

“Fantastisk oplevelse, ikke mindst værten Elbaz. Hans imødekommende væsen og hans evner som kok er hele turen til Berja værd. Ja vist er det ikke billigt, men man får også en unik oplevelse. Stemningen i hans smukke restaureret store hus er som at være i en marokkansk riad, så hans marokkanske rødder fornægter sig ikke. Vi fik bl.a. smagt hans Tajine og den smagte fantastisk som det øvrige vi fik. Elbaz evne til at smage maden til er misundelsesværdig. Tak også for at finde vin som passede perfekt til krydringen.”
