“We were exhausted when we checked in well after 7.30pm, having hiked from Foz do Alge and then up the steep hill leading to the hotel; however, the views/spectacular location of this hotel immediately lifted our spirits. Huge bed (twins pushed together) and a good-sized room. We were delighted to find a kettle, teabags, coffee and powdered milk in our room (unusual in Portugal). Plenty of television channels, including CNN, Sky News, Fox Movies, etc, plus free internet. The buffet breakfast was superb and the dining room/swimming pool real makes the most of those sweeping mountain views.”

Despite there being very few people there the restaurant menu was really good value and the quality of the food and value of food and wine was superb”
