“Hotel El Mayo was a fair distance away from the bus depot. We walked over in 15-20 minutes with snowboards. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from Echoland or Happo One main village. The hotel was very clean and the staff were great. You can purchase discounted mountain passes from the owner and he will shuttle you to/from most of the mountains in Hakuba. The room was a comfortable size for 2 people and the public bath was great! Breakfast was amazing and I'd definitely recommend!”

“Really helpful owners. Bring you to the slopes, helps with renting. The Onsen also nice, different culture, but.. great way to wash yourself and relax in a big bath. The breakfast was really good, slice of fish each morning, with special vegetable/mushroom soup, egg/ham, very good and tasty. Upon arrival at the bus terminal, the owner was waiting for us already. Really, thanks again for the good time we had in your property. Also, the lift passes are cheaper from the hotel, then when you buy them at the skilift. Echo land with the many restaurants / shops is only a 500m walk. Ski rental is 300m walk. City ATM, 1.5km walk. Nagiyama Ski and night ski, is also 1200m walk. We once took a taxi back, we walked once, and.. on the last day at 1130am the owner picked us up. After breakfast, owner will bring you to the slopes and 4pm pick you up again. Great service. “Very friendly and helpful. Free bus shuttle service from hotel was great and happy to accommodate and drive us to/from places. The Italian restaurant nearby was fabulous. Very close to Happo- one by shuttle. Red free shuttle stops out the front too if you miss the hotels shuttle service.”

“The Host is super friendly and accommodating. He picked us up from the bus terminal and drove us to anywhere in Happo that we wanted to go. The hotel is centrally located and 3 min walk to a convenience store. I highly recommend the hotel's breakfast, which is mainly traditional Japanese style, good value for money. The hotel also has onsen in its basement.”

“The staff were incredibly helpful. The owner ran a free shuttle to the local ski lifts several times each morning, and one in the afternoon. There is the free Hakuba shuttle that also stops right next to the accommodation. The accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced.”
