“Era Conte is een simpele, relaxte, zeer rustig gelegen, landelijke 'hostal' , met goede, schone kamers, een prettige inrichting en een zeer vriendelijke, goed kokende, attractieve gastvrouw (dat zie je nog maar weinig, vandaag de dag: roze sokken met konijnenpantoffels...), met een prachtig uitzicht op het oude stadje Bierge. Spaanser kom je het niet tegen. Je moet wél even uitvogelen hoe je er met de auto kunt komen, je moet eerst het oude dorp in en dan de borden volgen. Als je ooit je boek moet schrijven: ga er zitten. Als je van lopen of rijden in de Pyreneeën houdt: ook.”
