“The lady serving in the dining area for breakfast was particularly efficient and willing to please. Hotel Mare is quiet even if so close to the main street. Alster lake is a few steps away... how wonderful for little walks or just sitting to relax on the bench.”

“The location near the lake, the proximity of two superb restaurants, Greek and Thai literally across the road. The cleanliness and comfort of the rooms.Five minute walk from U bahn and twenty minute walk to city , Hamburg is a fantastic city. Continental breakfast lovely bread, assortment of cheese, meat and fish . Friendly staff. Very reasonably priced vending machine rather than mini bar in rooms. Would return if staying in Hamburg again . Wouldn't bother looking to stay anywhere else except perhaps in the sister hotel Miramar two minutes away.”

“Smaller sized breakfast room with a nice view; high ceiling in bedroom; it is a good place to stay if you like to have a tea/coffee or dinner in one of the several restaurants just over the bridge - good neighbourhood; If you are not in a rush you can walk along the river into town, there is a popular outside bar next to the river; public transport into town is good as well”
