“A beautiful and historic 4 Star hotel constructed by the Norfolk & Western Railway, the Hotel Roanoke is on of my favourite places to stay in Virginia. Managed by Hilton, the staff is very good. The rooms are comfortable and luxurious (and quiet unless you are located above the main entrance--beware!). The breakfast buffet is excellent. The hotel is surprisingly affordable for what it is and hence is often sold out so reserve early. Downtown Roanoke is a short walk across a bridge next to the hotel and there are plenty of interesting stores, restaurants and museums to enjoy. Particularly recommended is the Winston O. Link Museum directly across the street from the hotel and featuring great photos from the end of the steam train era.”
