“I'm so glad we stayed here! Varenna was a perfect home base for our romantic Lake Como trip. The hotel staff were very helpful and kind. The location was perfect in the main courtyard by the clock tower. We were there in October, and they gave us a free upgrade to a lake view room, before we even asked. We were a little sad we missed the swimming pool's open season, but the beautiful views and delicious breakfast each morning made up for it! The restaurant (VictoriaGrille) should have its own rightful review but it was excellent. We ate there in the first and last night of our stay. Possibly the best food from our whole trip. Only a short walk to the beautiful Villa Monastero, and ferry. We rode in on the train with no car, and everything was accessible.”
