“The accommodation was set in a lovely banana garden, and there was lots of nature around, such as bats, frogs, geckos...I even saw a woodpecker in the tree one morning! This place was pretty rural and rough round the edges, which may not be to everyone's liking, but was fine for me. Location-wise, it's about 10 mins drive to Pinnawala elephant orphanage. I slept in the dorm room which was huge, very basic and somewhat uninviting room, but did the job for a low price. No mossie nets - bring your own for the dorm room! The toilet and shower area was outside - be prepared for small frogs in your toilet! Breakfast was included which was good value, and for a mere 150 rupees I was cooked lovely vegetarian rice and curry meals which were very tasty!”
“The location was perfect for our visit to Millennium Elephant Foundation - five minutes away by tuktuk. Set in a jungly area, the chalets looked great. The dining area was open, surrounded by the garden (which we liked) and the inclusive breakfast was as standard: toast and eggs and tea. The staff were friendly and helpful enough.”
