“The staff treat guests like royalty, from the dining staff to those at the desk. The furnishing are lovely as if you are staying in a colonial home. The location is perfect to explore colonial Cuena and at the back is the famous river walk. Their food is always delicious.”
“Fantastic staff, always helpful and cheerful, beautiful restored building overlooking river, quirky furnishings in lots of sitting areas, open fire at reception, lovely breakfast (included) with views over river and with hummingbirds in view, full sized bath, toiletries. Nicest place we have stayed in Ecuador, and best value. ”
“Despite early arrival (9 am) we were provided with a very nice room. The hotel itself is very cozy and interesting. Convenient location close to the main square. Really good value for money.”
“The rooms are beautiful and, since they face the river, are buffered from the noise of downtown (something I appreciate even more now that I've been here longer). Every morning I could sleep late, in comfort, then eat breakfast in the restaurant , overlooking the river: first came a beautiful plate of ripe fruit drizzled with yogurt and sprinkled with granola. Coffee, eggs, bread--all of it wonderful. The staff was warm and helpful.”
“Is one of the few hotels in Cuenca with the parking inside the hotel. They allow us to use the parking two hours after the checkout. The staff is so helpful and after the checkout, we used the instalations without any problem.”
“Exceedingly helpful and polite staff Attention to detail Great value for what I paid and a charming ambience”
“Great location, beautiful garden, amazing breakfast included, helpful staff...can't think of a better place to stay in. Normally hotel restaurants are ok at best, this hotel has one of the best restaurants in the city. Highly recommend it!”
“This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in! It is well decorated with a modern/Victorian vibe. In the evening, the reception area is lighted by candle, you are greeted with herbal tea, and the staff know your name from the moment you arrive. Front desk staff assisted us in booking salsa classes, Spanish language lessons, taxis, and restaurants. The restaurant and bar area plays soft jazz, the food is delicious and the staff very attentive and professional. The location is in the heart of Cuenca, but the hotel is nonetheless quiet and restful. Our room overlooked a garden that sloped down to the Rio Tomebama. There are a number of small sitting areas with comfortable Victorian seating. The hotel also has an ice-cream and sweets bar. Guests are often treated to chocolates. Life is good here.”
“I loved the character of the Victoria, the view of the garden from the room, the beautiful class-enclosed restaurant with its well-chosen music and good breakfasts, and the helpful staff. I would definitely stay here again on a future visit to Cuenca.”
“The restaurant was excellent. The service was wonderful at the restaurant. The food was good. The atmosphere was very nice.”
