“The ion Adventure Hotel is located deep in a valley, giving it a very unique vibe and character. The staff were super nice and helpful. Upon arrival we were offered a sparkling wine, we were given a choice of a mountain view or lake view room, both were very nice. The hot tub was a bliss in the icy cold weather. Food at the restaurant was also superb (albeit expensive, as with all Icelandic food), highly recommend their langoustine tail! The bar was beautiful, perfect to grab a drink during happy hour to take some nice photos.”

“The architecture is second to none, it's so different to anywhere we've stayed before. The drive out there felt like a real adventure and the scenery surrounding the hotel is absolutely stunning. The rooms were sufficient and the hotel food was excellent but pricey (same as everywhere in Iceland) We saw the Northern Lights right from our bed which was the highlight of our trip. Will definitely be coming back.”
“The hotel is lovely, the location is stunning but it lacks atmodphere. The staff was ok but everything you requested seemed to be hassle. I was most disappointed when we finally got to see the northern lights that they did not try to reduce the light pollution. The lights were directly outside their restaurant, it was closed and the staff was just clearing up. They have black out blinds and if they used this it would have improved the experience for the guest. Most of the hotel guests stayed at this hotel as it boasts that you can see the lights from the comfort of the hotel due to the remoteness. It was dissapointing that so little was done to improve or make our stay special.”

“Everything! Except the drive to the place but that's ok, once you reach IAH you'd have forgotten everything. It's a bit on the pricey end but you get what you paid for, definitely! The outdoor Lava Spa (pool) is amaaaaazing. Perfect views both morning and evening! A place to stay if you want to get away from the city life. Worth every penny!”
