“The room was very clean and spacious. I like that it does not have carpet, so it feels much cleaner. Great view from balcony. Unfortunately the weather was not good, so we could not get out and walk as we wished. Would like to have seen more of the Xmas lights. Enjoyed dinner at Puddle Jumpers. So many things within walking distance.”
“A good alternative to staying in Mount Dora, Tavares is a sleepy, in transition, somewhat sketchy "pueblo/village". You can tell the city is doing its best to attract more people to it's downtown and re-invigorate the economy. When we visited in Thanksgiving 2017, there was much street improvements / repair. The view of the lake is raw. The breakfast at the restaurant 3 blocks from the hotel was absolutely delish - especially the pancakes. Good value for the money; FREE WiFi was reliable.”
“When I made the reservation I inquired about having the hotel leave a surprise for my daughter as it was her birthday. Upon check-in the request had mistakenly been overlooked. Anna immediately called and said she felt horrible and asked if it would be ok if they brought something by. Not 30 minutes later Steve dropped by with a bag of chocolates and an adorable card! So very thoughtful and appreciated! Really made us feel welcomed!”
“We upgraded to a larger room in Building 1, directly on the lake. Building 2 and 3 are across the road behind Building 1. Liked the extra space, the balcony and the great view of the lake. Wonderful shoreline park next to property, with good restaurants.”

“The room 2 bedroom, 2 bath was spacious, it allowed privacy for the 5 of us traveling together. The balcony had a great view. The beds were comfortable great shower. The hotel provided cleansing conditioner, face towelettes, in a clever towel/ washcloth display. A tasty breakfast at Buster Tubbs each morning, with friendly enjoyable wait staff, delightful evening music entertainment.”
“Breakfast at Buster Tubbs was not good. Eggs were runny and eggshell was in the eggs. Room is huge! And quite clean. Downtown and flea market area are only a short drive. In a few years this area will be hopping. It's still up and coming but there are a few good places to hang out at night within walking distance.”
“Located only 5 miles from downtown Mt Dora, this is an updated property and very clean. We were surprised to find breakfast included at Buster Tubs, a little place right behind the hotel. Great atmosphere with a friendly staff, and good food. There were several other little restaurants nearby, but we did not have time to try them.”
