“We loved this family-run hotel. From the welcome drink, with Rudi, the owner, on the night of our arrival to the bottle of local wine and the chocolates he presented as we checked out. Breakfasts were excellent. Bicycle loan was easy and helpful. (Nice bikes btw and maintained in good condition., In truth, our hearts had sunk a little as we slogged through the outskirts of Vienna to reach Wolkersdorf and as we approached the village past Industrial units, it didn't seem like what we were expecting. However, on reaching the centre of the village and Hotel Klaus we were re-assured and indeed, delighted with the locality. The Wein-Gasse in local villages are amazing, with cobbled streets where every cottage has its own wine cellar. The cycle path network locally is excellent and Volkersdorf is extremely well connected to Vienna by a regular and cheap train-service. The Somerbad open-air swimming pool complex is also really good - for Kids and adults alike.”
